Finding Inspiration

How was your weekend? Mine was so-so. I spent it running errands and getting some necessary things done.

Today I want to share with you one source of inspiration for my writing. I’m a huge fan of DC Comics and Marvel. Believe it or not, I was a comic book fan as a kid. I watched the animated shows after school—much to my mother’s chagrin.

Recently, I’ve been binge-watching “The Flash.” You might be scratching your head wondering how a TV show can inspire a writer. I just finished drafting my first urban fantasy which includes a big fight scene. In watching the episodes of “The Flash”, I get to see how Hollywood handles such scenes—the choreography, the use of magic, etc. I’ve already made notes of how to amp up my scene—it’s not nearly as dramatic as it should be. I use magic but it needs to be bigger, riskier, and flashier—yes, I said that.

If you’re a writer, where do you find inspiration for your craft? Not an author but a fan of comics? Then comment with your best cheesy one-liner or tell me what superhero is your fave! Please don’t tell me I’m the only one with a arsenal  of geeky dialogue. LOL!

Till tomorrow... Keep reading!
